The Lowdown
Smith — the Obie-winning performer behind A Huey P. Newton Story — returns to New York Theatre Workshop after a sold-out Under the Radar engagement earlier this year. It runs about ninety minutes: one man, a living soundscape, and the ghost of a genius who burned bright and fast just a few blocks from where you’ll be sitting.
A short, downtown, quintessentially New York run. If you care about art, the ’80s East Village, or watching a master storyteller work a room entirely alone, this is your ticket.
