Full guide →When to go. Head straight out at curtain call. Two-show days are the worst bet at both performances — the cast rests through the matinee and is spent by the evening. A Sunday matinee is the best single bet, because it is a one-show day. In bad weather the barricades sometimes never go up at all.
Who comes out. Anywhere from nobody to most of the cast. Nobody can tell you in advance which three — not us, not the theatre. Treat any list that claims otherwise with suspicion.
What to bring. Tonight’s Playbill and a fine-tip Sharpie, held open to the page you want signed. Ask before you photograph anyone, and keep the pavement clear — it is a working door, not a red carpet.

Twenty-five years after it first packed the Algonquin's Oak Room and then ran for 1,096 performances Off-Broadway, Our Sinatra: A Musical Celebration is back in New York with the same three people who started it. Hilary Kole, Eric Comstock, and Christopher Gines reunite for a 12-week engagement at the Marjorie S. Deane Little Theater, the 145-seat jewel box tucked inside the West Side YMCA on 64th Street, a short stroll from Lincoln Center.
The pitch is simple and the goods are hard to beat: fifty-plus Sinatra standards, a piano, two voices you would happily follow into a snowstorm, and no impersonation whatsoever. Nobody wears a fedora ironically. You get "Fly Me to the Moon," "The Way You Look Tonight," "I've Got You Under My Skin," "One for My Baby," "The Lady Is a Tramp," and pretty much every song you have ever hummed in an elevator, sung by people who actually know the verses.
Previews begin September 11, opening night is September 15, and the run goes through December 3. It is the rare Off-Broadway show you can bring your parents, your date, and your one friend who says they "don't really do musicals" to, and all three walk out happy. Grab a pre-show bite on Columbus Avenue and make a night of it.
