Stage Door
Full guide →When to go. Head straight out at curtain call. Two-show days are the worst bet at both performances — the cast rests through the matinee and is spent by the evening. A Sunday matinee is the best single bet, because it is a one-show day. In bad weather the barricades sometimes never go up at all.
Who comes out. Anywhere from nobody to most of the cast. Nobody can tell you in advance which three — not us, not the theatre. Treat any list that claims otherwise with suspicion.
What to bring. Tonight’s Playbill and a fine-tip Sharpie, held open to the page you want signed. Ask before you photograph anyone, and keep the pavement clear — it is a working door, not a red carpet.
Where to Buy Tickets
The Lowdown
Some plays start at the explosion. Aftermath starts the morning after, when the sirens have stopped and everybody has to work out what happens next, together, with no script for it.
The production lands at the A.R.T./New York Mezzanine Theatre on West 53rd Street, with previews from October 19, 2026, an October 24 opening, and a close on November 8. Steven Skybell, Danny Kornfeld, Jill Stern and Awesta Zarif lead the company, which is a lot of genuine acting firepower for a 149-seat room.
And that room is the point. At this size you are close enough to catch the half-second before somebody decides to lie. There is no back row to hide in and no scenery to hide behind, which tends to make actors braver and audiences quieter.
It is a short run, three weeks and change, in a small house. Those two facts together usually mean tickets go faster than anyone expects, so plan ahead rather than hoping.
