Full guide →When to go. Head straight out at curtain call. Two-show days are the worst bet at both performances — the cast rests through the matinee and is spent by the evening. A Sunday matinee is the best single bet, because it is a one-show day. In bad weather the barricades sometimes never go up at all.
Who comes out. Anywhere from nobody to most of the cast. Nobody can tell you in advance which three — not us, not the theatre. Treat any list that claims otherwise with suspicion.
What to bring. Tonight’s Playbill and a fine-tip Sharpie, held open to the page you want signed. Ask before you photograph anyone, and keep the pavement clear — it is a working door, not a red carpet.

The Lowdown
Ever wonder what your dog is actually thinking while you narrate your entire day at it? David Javerbaum — the man with a shelf of Emmys from The Daily Show — decided to just ask. The Dog Show hands the microphone to the dogs: a run of monologues delivered from the far end of the leash, where the furniture is enormous, the mail carrier is a recurring villain, and you, the owner, come across as a deeply confusing but much-loved idiot.
Richard Israel directs at the Triad on West 72nd Street, a 130-seat room small enough that you will catch every raised eyebrow. And here is the best part: the Triad is selling Pooch Seats — pairs of chairs that let you bring your actual dog to the actual show about dogs. No word yet on whether they leave reviews.
Previews start October 13, 2026, opening night is October 18, and the run wraps November 29. Bring the dog. Bring the friend who speaks to their dog in full sentences. Bring a tissue or two, because Javerbaum has a habit of sneaking the sad part in right behind the punchline.
