The Lowdown
Truly, Howard Hughes is a world premiere and a Stanley Drama Award winner, with music by James Scully, a book by Frank Evans, Jennifer Paulson-Lee and Scully, and lyrics by Evans and Chad Gorn. Paulson-Lee directs and choreographs. The York Theatre Company has been quietly launching new musicals on the Upper East Side for decades, and this is exactly their lane: an ambitious original score, a big American life, a 204-seat room where you can hear every lyric.
Performances run at the Theater at St. Jean on East 76th Street from September 9 through October 4. Casting is still to be announced, so watch this space.
Uptown, brand new, and about a man who genuinely never did anything at half volume.
