Full guide →When to go. Head straight out at curtain call. Two-show days are the worst bet at both performances — the cast rests through the matinee and is spent by the evening. A Sunday matinee is the best single bet, because it is a one-show day. In bad weather the barricades sometimes never go up at all.
Who comes out. Anywhere from nobody to most of the cast. Nobody can tell you in advance which three — not us, not the theatre. Treat any list that claims otherwise with suspicion.
What to bring. Tonight’s Playbill and a fine-tip Sharpie, held open to the page you want signed. Ask before you photograph anyone, and keep the pavement clear — it is a working door, not a red carpet.
Why “still confirming”. The theatre details above are solid. What we haven’t nailed down is whether this particular production does a stage door — that changes with the cast, and no source publishes it. We’d rather say so than guess.

Eugene O'Neill's 1922 gut-punch gets a 20th-anniversary revival from the company that does this better than anyone. Yank is the strongest man in the belly of an ocean liner, king of the coal-stokers — until one horrified look from a rich passenger knocks the floor out from under him. What follows is 90 furious minutes of a man storming through Manhattan looking for anywhere he still belongs.
Ciarán O'Reilly directs at the Irish Repertory Theatre, the Chelsea jewel box where O'Neill always lands hardest. No intermission, no mercy, no filler. Previews start September 25; the run goes through November 15. It's a short, brutal, beautiful night of theater — exactly the kind of thing Off-Broadway exists to do.
