Stage Door
Full guide →When to go. Head straight out at curtain call. Two-show days are the worst bet at both performances — the cast rests through the matinee and is spent by the evening. A Sunday matinee is the best single bet, because it is a one-show day. In bad weather the barricades sometimes never go up at all.
Who comes out. Anywhere from nobody to most of the cast. Nobody can tell you in advance which three — not us, not the theatre. Treat any list that claims otherwise with suspicion.
What to bring. Tonight’s Playbill and a fine-tip Sharpie, held open to the page you want signed. Ask before you photograph anyone, and keep the pavement clear — it is a working door, not a red carpet.
Why “still confirming”. The theatre details above are solid. What we haven’t nailed down is whether this particular production does a stage door — that changes with the cast, and no source publishes it. We’d rather say so than guess.

The Lowdown
Playwrights Horizons launches its 2026–27 season by handing you a flashlight and pointing you straight at the internet's basement. In Degenerates, playwright Else Went drops us into an obscure online corner where a handful of young men trade the same grim gospel: it was over before it began, nobody's coming, might as well rot.
Then something inconvenient happens — a real connection starts to form — and the whole fatalist worldview gets a lot harder to hold. Directed by Emma Rosa Went, it's a play about the stories people tell themselves to explain the ache, and what it costs when one of them finally breaks ranks.
Bleak? Sure. But it's also sharp, weirdly tender, and very funny in that laugh-so-you-don't-flinch way. The Peter Jay Sharp Theater is one of Off-Broadway's busiest launchpads for new writing, and this one has real teeth. First previews September 16.
