About the show

The Lowdown

Saddle up, downtown: Wild Rose is galloping into New York Theatre Workshop for its U.S. premiere. Based on the beloved 2018 film, it's a country jukebox musical about a Glasgow girl with Nashville-sized dreams and a rap sheet that keeps getting in the way.

Screenwriter Nicole Taylor adapts her own story, and John Tiffany — the guy who staged Once and a little thing called Harry Potter and the Cursed Child — directs. Translation: expect big voices, bigger heart, and songs you'll be humming all the way back to the subway.

NYTW's 199-seat East Village home is the perfect size for a show this personal. It runs a tight few weeks in October, so don't dawdle.

Won a seat to Wild Rose for the price of a deli lunch? Struck out a dozen times trying? Either way, the next New Yorker hitting refresh on the lottery wants to hear about it. Be the first on the board.
