Full guide →When to go. Head straight out at curtain call. Two-show days are the worst bet at both performances — the cast rests through the matinee and is spent by the evening. A Sunday matinee is the best single bet, because it is a one-show day. In bad weather the barricades sometimes never go up at all.
Who comes out. Anywhere from nobody to most of the cast. Nobody can tell you in advance which three — not us, not the theatre. Treat any list that claims otherwise with suspicion.
What to bring. Tonight’s Playbill and a fine-tip Sharpie, held open to the page you want signed. Ask before you photograph anyone, and keep the pavement clear — it is a working door, not a red carpet.

Milo Cramer spent years tutoring New York City kids whose families were paying for an edge, and School Pictures is what came out of it: a set of poem-songs about parenting, money, puberty and the strange business of being hired to care about somebody else's child. Cramer wrote it and performs it alone at a keyboard, Morgan Green directs, and the whole thing lands funnier and kinder than that description makes it sound.
It played Playwrights Horizons in 2023, picked up a following that never quite let go, and now returns to Cherry Lane Theatre on Commerce Street for a proper fall run — October 7 through November 8, 2026, at 7pm nightly, with opening night October 18.
Cherry Lane seats 167 in one of the oldest continuously running theatres in the city, tucked onto a West Village side street that looks like a film set. The companion piece Two Girls plays the same stage at 9:30pm, so a double feature is one subway ride and one evening.
