Full guide →When to go. Head straight out at curtain call. Two-show days are the worst bet at both performances — the cast rests through the matinee and is spent by the evening. A Sunday matinee is the best single bet, because it is a one-show day. In bad weather the barricades sometimes never go up at all.
Who comes out. Anywhere from nobody to most of the cast. Nobody can tell you in advance which three — not us, not the theatre. Treat any list that claims otherwise with suspicion.
What to bring. Tonight’s Playbill and a fine-tip Sharpie, held open to the page you want signed. Ask before you photograph anyone, and keep the pavement clear — it is a working door, not a red carpet.

The Lowdown
Here is a career move nobody plans for: you get cast as J.K. Rowling at the Edinburgh Fringe, and suddenly the whole internet has opinions about you. Laura Kay Bailey lived it, and she turned the fallout into Rowling in It: Villain in Progress, a solo comedy now making its New York debut.
Bailey wrote and performs the show, an hour of satire about ambition, identity, public outrage and what happens when the part you play becomes the thing people think you are. Expect jabs at famous tweets, performative activism and the theater business itself. Dominic Shaw, associate director of The Devil Wears Prada, directs, and Hannah Elsy Productions produces.
It is a strictly limited engagement at Asylum NYC, the comedy club on East 24th Street, from December 18 to 23, 2026. Audiences must be 16 or older, and you need to be 21 with ID to order a drink at the bar.
Pick it up as a holiday-week palate cleanser between all those Christmas Carols. No wands required.
