Full guide →When to go. Head straight out at curtain call. Two-show days are the worst bet at both performances — the cast rests through the matinee and is spent by the evening. A Sunday matinee is the best single bet, because it is a one-show day. In bad weather the barricades sometimes never go up at all.
Who comes out. Anywhere from nobody to most of the cast. Nobody can tell you in advance which three — not us, not the theatre. Treat any list that claims otherwise with suspicion.
What to bring. Tonight’s Playbill and a fine-tip Sharpie, held open to the page you want signed. Ask before you photograph anyone, and keep the pavement clear — it is a working door, not a red carpet.

The Lowdown
Picture a museum lecture where the speaker is Lili Taylor, the slides are a 500-year-old Dutch textile the size of a living room wall, and nobody is quite sure whose story is being told. That is Honor, An Artist Lecture, and it is a lot funnier than any art history class you sat through.
In 2022 the Metropolitan Museum of Art asked performance artist Suzanne Bocanegra to make a piece about Honor, a 16th-century Dutch weaving in its collection. She came back with this: an hour of storytelling where Taylor speaks Bocanegra's words, and the two of them pick apart ownership, authenticity, cruelty and feminism, with plenty of family history mixed in. The big question underneath it all: what makes a virtue honorable, and who gets to decide?
Geoff Sobelle directs. Theatre for a New Audience presents it with the Under the Radar festival at the Polonsky Shakespeare Center in Fort Greene, Brooklyn.
Performances run January 13 to 31, 2027. It is a short run in the dead of winter, so book early and bring a friend who claims they hate performance art. They will not hate this one.
