About the show

The Lowdown

Hungry Women lands at SoHo Playhouse for a five-week summer run, with Julia Lester (yes, that Julia Lester) leading the charge. It is a comedy with teeth: funny about grief, funny about appetite, funny about what people become when the rules stop applying. Think end-of-the-world premise, dinner-party manners, and a cast that plays it entirely straight while the ground gives way underneath.

SoHo Playhouse is a 199-seat house on Vandam Street, which means nobody is far from the stage and every reaction lands. Previews start July 23, opening night is July 25, and the whole thing wraps August 30 — so this is a genuinely short window.

If your summer theatre plan has been “something weird, something downtown, something I can still get a drink after,” congratulations, here it is.
