Full guide →When to go. Head straight out at curtain call. Two-show days are the worst bet at both performances — the cast rests through the matinee and is spent by the evening. A Sunday matinee is the best single bet, because it is a one-show day. In bad weather the barricades sometimes never go up at all.
Who comes out. Anywhere from nobody to most of the cast. Nobody can tell you in advance which three — not us, not the theatre. Treat any list that claims otherwise with suspicion.
What to bring. Tonight’s Playbill and a fine-tip Sharpie, held open to the page you want signed. Ask before you photograph anyone, and keep the pavement clear — it is a working door, not a red carpet.
Where to Buy Tickets
The Lowdown
Grab your watermelon. Dirty Dancing: The Musical is heading to the Lena Horne Theatre for a limited Broadway run, with previews starting February 12, 2027, opening night on March 14, 2027, and a final bow set for September 5, 2027.
It's the summer of 1963 at Kellerman's resort in the Catskills. Frances "Baby" Houseman is supposed to be on a quiet family vacation, and then she meets dance instructor Johnny Castle and the whole summer goes sideways in the best way. Love, a lot of lifting practice in a lake, and a girl figuring out who she is when her dad isn't looking.
Eleanor Bergstein, who wrote the 1987 movie, wrote this stage version too, so the story is in safe hands. Lonny Price directs and Darrell Grand Moultrie handles the choreography. Expect the songs you already know by heart, including "(I've Had) The Time of My Life," "Hungry Eyes" and "She's Like the Wind." Annalese Starzec plays Baby and Blake Zekesnikar plays Johnny, both making their Broadway debuts.
The run lines up with the movie's 40th anniversary, and it's a limited engagement before the show heads back out on tour. Tickets go on sale October 9, 2026. Practice the lift at home first. Please.
