About the show

The Lowdown

Some stories arrive quietly and then refuse to leave you. Here There Are Blueberries is one of them.

Tectonic Theater Project — the company behind The Laramie Project — builds this Pulitzer Prize finalist play around a real photo album that landed on a museum archivist's desk: dozens of snapshots of Nazi officers at Auschwitz, off duty, laughing, eating blueberries. The play follows the historians who trace where the album came from and what those ordinary-looking pictures reveal about the people behind an unimaginable horror.

After an acclaimed Off-Broadway run at New York Theatre Workshop and an international tour, it comes to Broadway's Ethel Barrymore Theatre this fall. Previews begin November 2, 2026, with opening night set for November 9. Moisés Kaufman and Amanda Gronich wrote it; Kaufman directs.

It plays out like a detective story, and it stays with you like a warning. We'll keep this page current with casting, running time, and any rush or lottery details the moment they're announced.
