Full guide →When to go. Head straight out at curtain call. Two-show days are the worst bet at both performances — the cast rests through the matinee and is spent by the evening. A Sunday matinee is the best single bet, because it is a one-show day. In bad weather the barricades sometimes never go up at all.
Who comes out. Anywhere from nobody to most of the cast. Nobody can tell you in advance which three — not us, not the theatre. Treat any list that claims otherwise with suspicion.
What to bring. Tonight’s Playbill and a fine-tip Sharpie, held open to the page you want signed. Ask before you photograph anyone, and keep the pavement clear — it is a working door, not a red carpet.

The Lowdown
Two janitors. One mop. No brooms. A room that flatly refuses to get clean. If that sounds like a bad Tuesday, congratulations — you have understood Broom Play, and you are already halfway to enjoying it.
This world premiere is a tragicomedy about the exact moment a person decides they cannot keep doing the thing they have been doing — and about the person standing beside them who has quietly made peace with it. It leans on the absurdist tradition, think Beckett with better physical comedy, and adds eccentric clowning plus a few turns of unexpected tenderness. Fair warning that doubles as a selling point: the show shifts shape from performance to performance and carries more than one ending, so the version your friend saw is not the version you are going to get.
It plays upstairs at The Players Theatre on MacDougal Street, in the Steve & Marie Sgouros space — third floor, stairs only, so wear the good knees. The run is short: November 5 through 22, 2026. Small room, short run, several endings. Go early, so you have time to go twice.
