The plot tracks C.C. Bloom and Hillary Whitney from an Atlantic City boardwalk meeting through thirty years of life. One is a loud-mouthed aspiring singer; the other is a repressed heiress. It is the classic odd-couple dynamic, expanded into a full-scale production. Jessica Vosk and Kelli Barrett do the heavy lifting, navigating decades of life, career shifts, and the inevitable, crushing weight of terminal illness that defines the second act. The staging leans hard into the mid-century nostalgia, and while the source material is pure melodrama, the performances handle the heavier emotional beats with genuine care. It is a predictable cry, but some of us need that once in a while.
