About the show

The Lowdown

Anne Washburn — the gloriously strange mind behind Mr. Burns — is back with a world premiere, and it's exactly as unhinged as you'd hope. When a pride flag unfurls across the street from Jeanie, a very-online TikToker marooned in a Texas suburb, two households promptly lose their minds. What follows is a comedy about neighbors, screens, and the moment the line between what's real and what's a feed quietly stops existing.

Directed by Anne Kauffman at MCC's Newman Mills Theater, ANON – a tempest at our kitchen table runs a strictly limited engagement this fall. It's small, it's sharp, and it's the kind of new play people argue about on the sidewalk afterward. Previews begin September 25; opening night is October 13. If you like your theater weird, funny, and a little too close to home, this one's for you.
