Full guide →When to go. Head straight out at curtain call. Two-show days are the worst bet at both performances — the cast rests through the matinee and is spent by the evening. A Sunday matinee is the best single bet, because it is a one-show day. In bad weather the barricades sometimes never go up at all.
Who comes out. Anywhere from nobody to most of the cast. Nobody can tell you in advance which three — not us, not the theatre. Treat any list that claims otherwise with suspicion.
What to bring. Tonight’s Playbill and a fine-tip Sharpie, held open to the page you want signed. Ask before you photograph anyone, and keep the pavement clear — it is a working door, not a red carpet.

Down the rabbit hole we go again. Literally Alive brings its family musical version of Alice in Wonderland back to The Players Theatre on MacDougal Street, and it is exactly the kind of Saturday morning that turns a kid into a theater kid.
Lewis Carroll's story gets the full song-and-dance treatment: Alice chases a very late White Rabbit, argues with a Caterpillar who answers every question with another question, crashes a tea party that has no interest in telling time, and eventually has to stand up to a Queen who solves problems with exactly one sentence. The score is original, the cast is small and busy, and nobody is asked to sit still for two hours.
The Players Theatre seats 199, so there is no bad seat and no squinting from the back. Literally Alive also runs a pre-show family experience before the curtain, which is a nice way to burn off some energy before everyone has to whisper.
Performances run September 26 through November 8, 2026. It is a good first show for a small human, and a genuinely pleasant hour for the adult holding the tickets.
