The Lowdown
Classic Stage Company brings Clifford Odets’ Depression-era classic back to East 13th Street this fall, with Steven Pasquale making his directing debut and a cast that includes Tala Ashe, Raffi Barsoumian, Greg Hildreth and Conrad Ricamora. This staging adds live music by Yeller Tooth and movement to a play that was already built to grab you by the collar.
CSC’s Lynn F. Angelson Theater seats 199, which is the whole point — Odets wrote this to feel like you wandered into an actual union meeting, not a show.
Previews start October 15 and the run ends November 22. Worth knowing before you buy full price: CSC runs a general rush at $40 and a student rush at $30, sold in person at the box office starting an hour before curtain.
