Full guide →When to go. Head straight out at curtain call. Two-show days are the worst bet at both performances — the cast rests through the matinee and is spent by the evening. A Sunday matinee is the best single bet, because it is a one-show day. In bad weather the barricades sometimes never go up at all.
Who comes out. Anywhere from nobody to most of the cast. Nobody can tell you in advance which three — not us, not the theatre. Treat any list that claims otherwise with suspicion.
What to bring. Tonight’s Playbill and a fine-tip Sharpie, held open to the page you want signed. Ask before you photograph anyone, and keep the pavement clear — it is a working door, not a red carpet.

The Lowdown
Long Island, 1986. The Mets are winning the World Series, and two freshly divorced moms with two kids apiece decide to move in together and raise the whole crew as one big, loud household. Yes, they got the idea from the sitcom Kate & Allie. Yes, it worked better than anyone expected.
Kate, Allie and the '86 Mets is Kate Barry's autobiographical solo comedy, told from the point of view of the oldest daughter in that house. Barry walks through decades of carpools, holidays and family chaos and asks the question every kid in that kitchen eventually wondered about: were Mom and her best friend just splitting the rent, or was it something more?
Alex Kagy directs, and the show arrives in New York after a run at the Edinburgh Fringe. It plays Asylum NYC on East 24th Street, a comedy club with a bar, so you can toast the '86 Mets properly.
Performances run November 5 to 10, 2026 at 7pm, with an extra 2pm matinee on Saturday, November 7. That is six shows total, so grab a seat before they are gone faster than a Dwight Gooden fastball.
