About the show

The Lowdown

This is the rags-to-literary-riches tale Dickens himself called his “favourite child” — a young man’s journey through romance, ruin, lovable rogues, oily villains (hello, Uriah Heep) and patrons kind enough to keep him fed. The creative team behind the acclaimed Pride & Prejudice brings the same gleeful invention: quick-change comedy, sharp ensemble timing and what The Times called ensemble playing that “doesn’t come much sharper than this.”

It is a strictly limited run — May 29 through June 28, 2026 — so this is one of those blink-and-it’s-gone Off-Broadway treats. Two hours and fifteen minutes, one intermission and a whole lot of Victorian mischief packed into a cozy Midtown house.
