About the show

The Lowdown

Camelot ran from March 9, 2023, to July 23, 2023, at the Vivian Beaumont Theater. If you were scouring the internet for Camelot Broadway tickets or trying your luck at the Camelot lottery, you are officially out of luck as the curtain dropped last summer. The production is a closed chapter in the Lincoln Center archives. For those still hunting for ways to score cheap seats to current shows, you can consult our Broadway lottery hub.

Aaron Sorkin took a swing at the script, stripping away some of the camp to focus on the political machinery of the Round Table. It was an ambitious attempt to make a dusty score feel like a C-SPAN debate. While the orchestrations were lush and the talent on stage was undeniable, the show often felt like it was fighting its own source material. It looked expensive, which is exactly what we expect from a Lincoln Center residency. If you caught it, you saw a polished, albeit slightly clinical, take on an old standard. It is now a memory, fitting for a theater that usually leans toward the serious side of the street.
