Full guide →When to go. Head straight out at curtain call. Two-show days are the worst bet at both performances — the cast rests through the matinee and is spent by the evening. A Sunday matinee is the best single bet, because it is a one-show day. In bad weather the barricades sometimes never go up at all.
Who comes out. Anywhere from nobody to most of the cast. Nobody can tell you in advance which three — not us, not the theatre. Treat any list that claims otherwise with suspicion.
What to bring. Tonight’s Playbill and a fine-tip Sharpie, held open to the page you want signed. Ask before you photograph anyone, and keep the pavement clear — it is a working door, not a red carpet.

The Lowdown
The team behind John Proctor Is the Villain is back. Playwright Kimberly Belflower and director Danya Taymor bring a new play, Born in the Dirt, to Lincoln Center Theater's Mitzi E. Newhouse in spring 2027.
Maddy Grace spent her whole life trying to get out of her small Southern hometown. Then her Los Angeles life falls apart and she lands right back where she started, working at the town's most famous attraction: a whimsical doll "hospital" where local women hand-sew dolls for collectors all over the world. Maddy decides to make a documentary about the women who make them, and the camera turns up more than she bargained for, about them and about her.
If John Proctor taught us anything, it is that Belflower writes Southern women with a lot of wit and a lot going on underneath. Expect laughs, and maybe bring tissues.
Previews begin April 14, 2027 and opening night is May 6 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse, the 299-seat house downstairs at Lincoln Center. It is a limited run. Casting and a closing date are still to be announced.
