Full guide →When to go. Head straight out at curtain call. Two-show days are the worst bet at both performances — the cast rests through the matinee and is spent by the evening. A Sunday matinee is the best single bet, because it is a one-show day. In bad weather the barricades sometimes never go up at all.
Who comes out. Anywhere from nobody to most of the cast. Nobody can tell you in advance which three — not us, not the theatre. Treat any list that claims otherwise with suspicion.
What to bring. Tonight’s Playbill and a fine-tip Sharpie, held open to the page you want signed. Ask before you photograph anyone, and keep the pavement clear — it is a working door, not a red carpet.

Spooky season is coming early to the East Village, and it is sticking around until spring. Blood Be Sweet, a supernatural thriller by Abigail C. Onwunali, rounds out New York Theatre Workshop's season, directed by Awoye Timpo.
Set in an otherworldly realm, the play follows three spirits working overtime to keep Death from arriving too early for a young girl. Drawing on ancient Nigerian folklore, it digs into the fierce bonds between mothers and daughters and what it takes to stare down your biggest fears. Expect music by Michael R. Dudley, Jr. and choreography by Adesola Osakalumi, so these spirits will definitely be moving.
First preview is April 21, 2027, with the run scheduled through May 30, 2027 at New York Theatre Workshop, 79 East 4th Street. Opening night and casting are still to be announced, and we will update this page the moment they are.
