About the show

The Lowdown

Parker and Hank have it all figured out. Two careers, a Boston penthouse, a calendar full of dinner parties, and zero kids, by choice, thank you very much. Then a 21-year-old woman knocks on the door and announces she is Hank's daughter. Hank did not know he had one. Neither did Parker.

The Two of You is a new play by Brian Dykstra, and it is a love story with a lot of wordplay and a lot of laughs, plus the kind of mess that makes a couple stop and ask what they actually want the next chapter to look like. Spoiler: the answer is not "more dinner parties."

Margarett Perry directs for Twilight Theatre Co. in Theater B at 59E59 Theaters, the snug Upper East Side complex where you are never more than a few rows from the action.

Performances run March 18 to April 25, 2027. Good pick for a date night, and an even better pick if one of you has been dodging the "do we want kids?" conversation.

Won a seat to The Two of You for the price of a deli lunch? Struck out a dozen times trying? Either way, the next New Yorker hitting refresh on the lottery wants to hear about it. Be the first on the board.
