About the show

The Lowdown

The Stand-In is a world premiere comedy from Crystal Finn, playing WP Theater from January 30 to February 28, 2027 (opening night February 16), co-produced with Fiasco Theater.

Claire and Claudia are best friends, and they both want to be stars. Hollywood, being Hollywood, does not have room for everyone. The play is billed as an absurdist romp through the madness of the artist's journey and the toll it takes on the people and things you love, so expect laughs with a little bite in them.

Emily Young, one of the original Fiasco Theater company members, directs. Crystal Finn is an award-winning actor as well as a writer, so she knows exactly how weird an audition room can get.

WP Theater sits at 2162 Broadway at 76th Street on the Upper West Side. It's a small house, the run is short, and tickets start at $20 for a limited batch. Mark it for the dead of winter, when you need a good laugh most.
