Why “still confirming”. The theatre details above are solid. What we haven’t nailed down is whether this particular production does a stage door — that changes with the cast, and no source publishes it. We’d rather say so than guess.

Manga meets musical theater in Chelsea, and honestly, we're here for it. Memoirs of Amorous Gentlemen takes Moyoco Anno's beloved graphic novel and turns it into what may be the first manga ever adapted into an English-language American musical — a real NYC first. Tony and Grammy winner Duncan Sheik (Spring Awakening) writes the music and lyrics, Rob Ashford directs and choreographs, and rising star Sophia Anne Caruso leads as Colette, a young writer scribbling down the secrets, confessions, and heartbreaks of a Belle Époque Parisian house of pleasure.
Expect swoony ballads, a whole lot of longing, and the kind of gorgeous, slightly scandalous storytelling that makes Off-Broadway worth the trip downtown. It plays The Night Egg at the Culture Club on West 27th Street, with previews starting September 25, opening night October 15, and a run through early January. If you like your musicals lush, literary, and just a little bit naughty, put this one on the calendar.
