Full guide →When to go. Head straight out at curtain call. Two-show days are the worst bet at both performances — the cast rests through the matinee and is spent by the evening. A Sunday matinee is the best single bet, because it is a one-show day. In bad weather the barricades sometimes never go up at all.
Who comes out. Anywhere from nobody to most of the cast. Nobody can tell you in advance which three — not us, not the theatre. Treat any list that claims otherwise with suspicion.
What to bring. Tonight’s Playbill and a fine-tip Sharpie, held open to the page you want signed. Ask before you photograph anyone, and keep the pavement clear — it is a working door, not a red carpet.

Every October the city fills up with fog machines and rubber bats, and somewhere in the middle of all that, Vital Theatre puts on a monster musical for people who are seven and up and not especially interested in being scared.
Kid Frankenstein, The Musical plays selected Sundays at 1:30pm from October 4 through October 25, 2026, at the Actors Temple Theatre on West 47th Street. The setup is what the title promises: a young inventor, a laboratory, a creation who turns out to be much sweeter than anyone planned for, and a pile of songs about what happens when the thing you built starts having opinions of its own.
It runs short, it moves quickly, and the Actors Temple is small enough that a kid in the back row can still see faces. Vital has been making shows for young audiences in this city for years, and they are very good at the trick of writing something children love that does not make the adults next to them want to lie down.
Tickets are through Telecharge and Qiktix. Sundays only, four of them, then it packs up the lab.
