The Lowdown
Following a much-talked-about 2024 concept album, the stage version takes that neon-soaked, subway-riding odyssey across a stylized New York City and sets it to a propulsive new score. A fictitious gang is framed for murder and has to fight its way home through every turf in the five boroughs before sunrise — think one very bad night, one very long train ride, and a whole lot of choreography.
Jenny Koons and Andy Blankenbuehler direct and choreograph, which means the movement is going to do a lot of the storytelling. Dates and casting are still coming together; check back for first-preview info, lottery and rush details, and tickets as the production locks in.
