The Lowdown
The plot is essentially a fever dream set in 19th-century Montmartre, where a starving writer named Christian loses his mind over a club performer named Satine. We're really excited for the show, but it really didn't pan out. The singing wasn't as good as expected, and the movie put it to shame. We wish this were better.
