Funny Girl is a musical with music by Jule Styne, lyrics by Bob Merrill, and book by Isobel Lennart. Itl is based on the life and career of Fanny Brice, a Jewish-American comedian, singer, and actor who rose to fame in the early 20th century. The play follows Brice’s rise to fame as a Ziegfeld Follies headliner, her tumultuous love life, and her determination to make it in show business. The play features classic songs such as “People,” “Don’t Rain on My Parade” and “I’m the Greatest Star.”
