Eleven years in and Hamilton is still selling out the Richard Rodgers Theatre every night. The good news: Lin-Manuel Miranda's team runs a $10 lottery every week — and you can enter it from your phone in about ten seconds.
How to enter the Hamilton lottery
Hamilton runs the Ham4Ham digital lottery on a weekly cycle: one entry window covers the whole week of performances that follows it. Entries go through the Official Hamilton App (the cleanest experience) or the web form at HamiltonMusical.com, which Lucky Seat runs. You only get one entry per performance regardless of where you submit it — no double-dipping.
- Download the Hamilton App (iOS or Android) or go to hamiltonmusical.com/new-york/tickets or luckyseat.com/shows/hamilton-newyork.
- Timing: Entry opens Friday at 10 AM ET and closes the following Thursday at noon, covering the week of performances after that. Winners are notified Thursday afternoon and get two hours to pay.
- Tickets: $10 each, up to 2 tickets per winner. A limited number of front-row orchestra seats per performance, and a pair can be split up.
- Pickup: Pay by card online inside the two-hour claim window, then show photo ID at the box office that matches the name on your entry. You have to be 18 or older to enter.
- Limit: One entry per person, per performance. The app and the web form feed the same draw, so entering twice does not double your odds.
Tips for winning
- Enter every week — volume is the only real strategy. Most winners enter 10+ times before they win.
- Enter for slower performances — Wednesday matinees and early-week shows draw fewer entries than Friday and Saturday nights.
- Set a reminder — the window opens Friday at 10 AM and shuts Thursday at noon. An alarm Friday morning keeps you from missing a week.
- Check your notifications — winners get an email and a push notification Thursday afternoon. Miss the two-hour claim window, lose the seat.
