About the show

The Lowdown

Then Kennedy was shot, and she stopped believing the official story. She interviewed Jack Ruby. She told friends she was close to something. On November 7, 1965 she was found dead in her townhouse, and the case has never been satisfactorily closed.

Chuck Strand’s world-premiere musical — book and music by Strand, lyrics with Emily Drossell, directed by Terry Berliner — runs at the York Theatre Company’s home at St. Jean, November 28 through December 27, 2026. Casting was still to be announced at the time of writing. True crime, but with a full score and a woman who deserved a much better ending.

Won a seat to Kilgallen for the price of a deli lunch? Struck out a dozen times trying? Either way, the next New Yorker hitting refresh on the lottery wants to hear about it. Be the first on the board.
