Nine years in and Hamilton is still selling out the Richard Rodgers Theatre every night. The good news: Lin-Manuel Miranda's team runs a daily $10 lottery — and you can enter it from your phone in about ten seconds.
How to enter the Hamilton lottery
Hamilton runs the Ham4Ham digital lottery daily. Entries are accepted through the Official Hamilton App (the cleanest experience) and also through Broadway Direct and Lucky Seat. You only get one entry per performance regardless of where you submit it — no double-dipping.
- Download the Hamilton App (iOS or Android) or go to lottery.broadwaydirect.com/show/hamilton or luckyseat.com/shows/hamilton-newyork.
- Timing: The lottery opens at 11 AM the day before the performance and closes at 9 AM the morning of the show. Winners are notified by 11 AM.
- Tickets: $10 each, up to 2 tickets per winner. Minimum 36 seats per performance.
- Pickup: Mobile tickets only. Show photo ID at the box office that matches the name on your entry.
- Limit: One entry per performance across all three platforms. Don't try to triple-enter — they cross-check.
Tips for winning
- Enter every day — volume is the only real strategy. Most winners enter 10+ times before they win.
- Enter for slower performances — Wednesday matinees and early-week shows draw fewer entries than Friday and Saturday nights.
- Set a reminder — the 11 AM entry window opens the day before. An alarm at 10:55 AM keeps you from missing it.
- Check your notifications — winners get notified by 11 AM the day of the show. Miss the window, lose the seat.
