Sam Pinkleton directs this iteration, leaning into the venue’s history of debauchery rather than trying to sanitize the grit. Luke Evans as Frank-N-Furter feels like a calculated gamble, but the cast—including Stephanie Hsu and Juliette Lewis—actually manages to sell the absurdity without collapsing under the weight of the cult following. It is loud, it is campy, and it belongs in this specific zip code. If you prefer your musicals polite and coherent, stay uptown. If you want to scream at the stage, go.
