They spend 36 hours hauling a wedding cake across the boroughs, a logistical nightmare that would actually take four hours on the subway due to weekend track work. The show manages to avoid the saccharine traps of typical musicals, mostly because it understands that New Yorkers are inherently prickly. It is a tight, two-person affair that captures the specific friction of living here. If you have a soft spot for city cynicism, go see it.
